Had such a good experience delivering my first baby here! I was worried based on the previous reviews and them not having a NICU (luckily I didn’t need that) but I’d honestly do it again here! Labor and delivery room was a nice size + a bed for dad and plenty of other seating. I could have up to 4 people in the room during delivery which was surprising especially during RSV season. Every nurse I had was amazing and I got the two drs I wanted from my OB office. Highly recommend this hospital!

I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my recent two-day stay at your facility. From the moment I arrived, every member of your staff—from the nurses and doctors to the support team—was kind, attentive, and professional. Being in the hospital can be a vulnerable and stressful experience, but your compassion and dedication made me feel comfortable, safe, and truly cared for. It's clear that your team not only excels in medical expertise but also in empathy and patient support. Thank you for going above and beyond—I will always remember your kindness. With sincere appreciation, A grateful patient

I brought my mom to the ER. Her nurse Kristen was so attentive and caring. She saw to our immediate needs & informed us of what was taking place. She had other patients but she was consistent in checking on us as we waited for tests results. Dr Britt has the best bed side manner, which lowered my anxiety. He explained why he was ordering the certain tests and then went into details about the results. This whole ER was pleasant even those who did the intake. Under a bad situation they made us feel very cared for.

I want to give the UNC Health Johnston ER a 5 plus rating. We were camping in Selma this past weekend at North Point RV Campgrounds and my daughter-in-law fell on an E Bike breaking her wrist and we had to make and ER visit. We arrived at the UNC Health Johnston ER right at shift change Sunday night and you would have never known it. We checked in and waited about 5 minutes before being called back to be triage her and was sent straight back to a room and within a minute a nurse was in her room and a PA was in her room starting to access her. We spent 5 hours in the ER and it literally seemed like we were there no more than 10 minutes total. The time flew be and someone was working with my daughter-in-law the entire time we were their. The staff was amazing. I want to give a shout out to Nurse Amanda and PA Sherry. All of the staff in the ER from the time we arrived to the time we left were so compassionate, caring, and kind. This was the foremost best experience I have ever had with a hospital ER. I just want to say Thank You for giving you best, your heart for what you do and going above and beyond to help your patients like you do. May God Be With You all. A Blessed and Grateful Mother-In-Law.

I had numerous trips to the E.R. over the course of last year. I was diagnosed with AFIB and until I had my ablation I ended up in there a lot. I wanted to take the time to say that the staff tried their best each and every time to help me get my heart back on track in a timely manner. They genuinely seemed to care and did the best they could even when they were swamped with patients. Trips to the ER are never fun and having to wait a long time can sometimes be frustrating but I wanted to take a moment to show some appreciation to the Nurses and Doctors. Thank you for taking the time to help.

I have been to this hospital and each time everyone has listened to me. I was at my cardiologist appointment in Raleigh last week and the cardiologist insisted for me to go across the street to Rex for straight admission, I wish I would have asked for my home hospital UNC Johnston Smithfield. The difference between the two are night and day with UNC Johnston Smithfield the best experience and Rex unfortunately was horrific third try in past 10 years. The only good thing about Rex is their pharmacy staff and my actual cardiologist office. Rex hospitalists and admitting physicians were having a quarrel about why the main Hospitalists didn't have my cardiologist send me to Duke because I have liver Steatosis and they're not qualified to test and that unfortunately made weird visits each day due to the attending Dr was upset with me because he had to go and get liver test and no liver specialists onsite, but all he had to do was call my UNC Eastowne Hepatology Dr. I sent my brother in law this time to Smithfield for his stent verses Rex, and Mr E Cook was pleased with UNC Johnston Smithfield as I knew he would be.

My mom was in and out of this hospital for the most part of 2024 with cancer and blood transfusions. As most employees were great, there were two nurses that cared for mama that were outstanding. A white nurse, Annette and a black nurse, Sophia. They went beyond to take care of mama's needs. They both deserve a raise. I hope if I am ever admitted to UNC Health in Smithfield I have one or both of these great ladies. Keep up the good work, Annette and Sophia!

I have been to this hospital many times for labs, mri, colonoscopy. My mother was admitted to the hospital last week. They were very attentive and informed us each step of the way. Several people came by and asked us how we were treated and if we needed anything. My mom was very happy with her care. I have also had nothing but good experiences here.
